Insurance company bullying/steering

Insurance companies lead you to believe that you have to choose one of their "Direct Repair Centers" to have your vehicle repaired. It is State law that you can choose your own repair facility and your insurance company is required to pay the bill. See for yourself below in the Pennsylvania vehicle damage appraisers act 


62.3. Applicable standards for appraisal

(4) If the consumer receives information from the insurer, the information shall include disclosure that there is no requirement to use any specified repair shop.

"If you use a shop of your choice it will take longer and you will have to pay out of pocket expenses"

Below is directly from the Pennsylvania vehicle damage appraisers act. This states that they are to write an estimate that reflects paying all of the cost involved in bringing your vehicle back to a predamaged state. For no reason would it take any longer to have your vehicle repaired at Greater Pittsburgh Collision Works. We have a super refined process that eliminates any possible downtime.

(5) A description of repairs, known at the time of appraisal, necessary to return the vehicle to its predamaged condition, including labor involved, cost of all parts, necessary painting or refinishing and all sublet work to be done

"There will be no warranty on the repairs if you do not take it to one of our certified repair shops"

This is an intense repair to an all aluminum Audi A8. This car is built so incredibly strong. Would you want a non factory certified shop doing this repair to your Audi? When this was finished, there was  no sign a repair was done.

• Plan the repair (Complete vehicle disassembly for full damage analysis and documentation).
• Secondary insurance approval for damage that has been uncovered by disassembly
• Parts procurement and matching
• Repairs, reassembly and painting
• Cleanup and final quality inspection
• Keys returned to the customer

This method is designed to remove the variables from the repair process so delays can be minimized.

We incorporate seven quality checks throughout the repair process.
